Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
I hope you have a wonderful day spending time with family, enjoying delicious food, and (perhaps) watching football. As you enjoy all of the blessings of the day, don’t forget to take the time to express thankfulness to God who blesses us in every way!
The Bible gives us many reasons to give thanks to God. For today’s short post, I would like to give you ten for you to reflect on as you celebrate this special holiday:
We can give thanks…
- For God’s neverending love
Psalm 107:1 “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!”
- For the gift of salvation
2 Corinthians 9:15 “15Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!”
- For everything God has done in the past.
Psalm 105:1 “Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!”
- For God’s character
Psalm 100:4 “4Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
- For the situation you are in – whether good or bad.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
- For how God has saved your friends and family.
1 Corinthians 1:4 “I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus,”
- For the church.
Ephesians 1:16 “I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers,”
- For God’s eternal nature.
Revelation 11:17 “We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was, “
- For everything God has provided for you.
Deuteronomy 26:11 “And you shall rejoice in all the good that the Lord your God has given to you and to your house”
- For a God who reigns as King!
1 Chronicles 16:31 “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!””
Soli Deo gloria.
